The Auburn Exchange Club selected Forest Lake Christian School Seniors to receive its Youth of the Year awards and Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (A.C.E.) award. Students from Placer and Nevada County high schools competed at the local club level for these awards which are based upon academics, school activities, and community service. Justin Boatman was selected as the Male Youth of the Year and was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Callie Miller was selected as the Female Youth of the Year for the Sierra Pacific District level. She competed against students from the Bay area to the Oregon border and received a $1,000 scholarship. RaeEllen Griffith was selected for the Auburn Club A.C.E. award and also received the Sierra Pacific District award for a total scholarship of $2,000. The A.C.E. award honors a student who has overcome difficult times and obstacles, yet still managed to not only graduate from high school, but to excel. Justin and RaeEllen will attend William Jessup University in the fall and Callie has been accepted into the Torrey Honors Program at Biola University.
