Coming Soon: Apprentice Day 2009

Economics and fun, these words are not often paired, but the seniors of Forest Lake will show on Tuesday, March 17th that the two walk hand in hand when it comes to Apprentice Day. The Apprentice Day project is run by the Economics teacher, Mr. Lidbeck, and is designed to teach the seniors the many concepts and activities that go into running a business. The seniors have been split into teams of four or five each and have been working hard this past month to put together “restaurants” for the Apprentice Day event on Tuesday, where they will sell their wares to hungry junior high and high school students. Pasta, pizza, French fries, salads, wraps, milk shakes, pizookies, brownies, popcorn, and many more delicious food items will be for sale that day. (Consequently, the student store will be closed.) All the proceeds from this event will go to hire a speaker for the high school’s Spiritual Emphasis Week and to help out certain families from the school who are in need. (For example, last year’s proceeds were used to pay for a portion of a few students’ costly medical bills. It was a great blessing to their families.) Parents are welcome to attend Apprentice Day. Come and join in on the fun and partake of the tantalizing treats that will be available on from 11:30 A.M. to 1 P.M. on March 17th.
