Falcon Men’s Team First Division V Team

September 19, 2009, Grass Valley, CA – Austin Violette, ran a personal best time of 17 minutes 38 Seconds, placing 5th to lead the Falcons to a Sixth Place overall team finish in the Small School Race (Divisions 3, 4, & 5) at the Nevada Union Cross County Invitational. Forest Lake was also the first place Division-5 school in Saturday’s race.

Joshua Knapp was the second finisher for the Forest Lake Christian Falcons, clocking a personal best of 19 minutes 26 seconds for 25th place. Zac Bagley and Travis Clough grabbed 54th and 56th places running personal best times of 21:59 and 22:05.

Rounding out the Falcon men’s team was Jacob Sidnam who placed 64th in 23:34, followed by Josh Thompson (65th – 23:49), Luke Reed (67th – 24:06), and Makena Carlesberg (70th – 26:30),.

In the Women’s Frosh/Soph Race, Forest Lake’s Bethany Welty finished well with a 31:55 clocking over the 5k course. The Falcons did not field a Varsity women’s team in the meet.

“Austin (Violette) and Josh (Knapp) demonstrated some very spirited racing over this tough course today with significant improvement; they helped their teammates to also respond well in a deep, competitive field,” said Coach Nick Vogt.

The Falcon’s next competition will be the Yuba Sutter Invitational in Marysville on Friday afternoon, September 25, with the Women’s race beginning at 3:45 pm, followed by the Men’s race at 4:15.
