Student Council Leadership Retreat Update

On Wednesday, November 11, Student Council loaded up the vans and cars and began their journey to the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. Nestled within the tall pines is a special place known as Mt. Hermon Christian Conference Center which includes Redwood Camp and Ponderosa Camp. The latter would be their home for the next three days. The purpose of the trip was to attend Leadership Camp which is an annual event sponsored by the Association of Christian Schools International to help student leaders learn and grow. The speaker this year was Sean McDowell. He is the son of Josh McDowell and head of the Bible Department at Capistrano Valley Christian School. Sean is the national spokesman for Wheatstone Academy, an organization committed to training young people with a biblical worldview. Sean did an amazing job of challenging the students, as well as the adults, who were in attendance. The conference encouraged our student leaders to return to school and lead with confidence and continue to learn more about apologetics and living an authentic faith in our current culture.
