FLCS Choir Performs at the State Capitol
It was a new experience for the twenty-eight member Chamber Choir from Forest Lake Christian HS. To have the opportunity to sing in the Rotunda of the State Capitol Museum was both musically satisfying, but also a wonderful ministry opporunity. The choir performed an hour long a cappella concert featuring many beloved Christmas carols and other seasonal favorites. This appearance was part of the Holiday Seasonal Music festival in which groups from all over the Sacramento Valley have the chance to sing in the Rotunda. It was a first appearance for FLCS, but the first of many, as the choir received not only a grand applause when finished, but an invitation to return next year.
The echo of sound from their a cappella voices drifting through the halls of the capitol building gave the choir and passers by a musical treat, but the choir also recognized that they had the opportunity to share the Christmas message to all who would stop and listen.
The Chamber Choir, along with the Bella Voce Women’s Choir, RMS (Real Men Sing) Men’s Choir, Falcon Chorale and Jr. High Chorale, will present their annual Christmas concert on two nights, Monday and Tuesday, December 14, and 15 at Combie Bible Church in Grass Valley (LOP). We invite you to join us for one of these evenings to enjoy the music of the Christmas season. Many of the selections performed at the capitol will also be presented these evenings.
We wish all of our school families, as well as extended church families both a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It is our prayer that you will not only recognize celebrate the birth of the infinite infant, but that you will take Him out of the manger, and place Him in your hearts.
