Josh Ritchart Nominated for the Prestigious McDonald’s High School All-American Basketball Team

josh-mcdonald-award2On Friday, February 5 during the last pep rally of our 2010 Spirit Week festivities, U.C. Davis bond Josh Ritchart added another “trophy” to his ever growing basketball resume by being named to the prestigious McDonald’s High School All-American Basketball Team. Josh was one of only 1500 high school players nationwide to be nominated. Nationwide over 200,000 young men play varsity level basketball. He will be considered for selection to play in a game that is played in Columbus, Ohio on March 31, 2010. The final team of 24 will be announced near the end of February. Past players have included basketball greats Magic Johnson, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant to name a few.

Nominations go only to players who have displayed great individual skill, a strong work ethic, teamwork, and leadership on the basketball court and in the classroom. Nominations are made by college coaches who have observed the best players in the nation.

The award certificate was presented to Josh by a McDonald’s representative. All proceeds from the game go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Congratulations to Josh for your accomplishments as a student-athlete here at Forest Lake Christian School.
