Hello, my name is Jaci Hummel and I am thrilled to be the 5th grade teacher at Forest Lake Christian School. My younger sister and brother both graduated from Forest Lake and my father taught Bible at the high school. I look forward to becoming a part of the Forest Lake family as well.

I grew up in the Amazon region in northern Brazil and graduated from high school at Amazon Valley Academy in 2005. After high school, I took two years to study Bible and missions at Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and then concluded my education at William Jessup University. I completed my student teaching in Lincoln and Roseville teaching both 3rd and 5th grade.

For the past four years I have been working as a teacher for Wellspring Management Services in the United Arab Emirates. I spent two years teaching 2nd grade at an established school in Al Ain. After that, I was a part of a team that set up and opened a new school in Ras Al Khaimah. I taught 3rd grade for two years to students from over 20 countries. It was an awesome opportunity to get to know people from diverse cultures and share with them the faith that is central to my life.

I am excited to be back in the United States, and more specifically, at Forest Lake. I look forward to the opportunity to get to know, teach, encourage, and pray for this group of students. I know that God has placed me where He wants me to be and I can’t wait to see what He has for this year!
