FOREST LAKE CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL has developed an HONORS ENGLISH PROGRAM for grades 10 – 12. The criteria for consideration into the program includes a teacher recommendation and consistently high report card grades (90% or better) from the previous school year. The design of the program is to provide a more challenging approach to the existing curriculum at each grade level beginning with the sophomore year. Interesting presentation rubrics and varietal assessments, coupled with an in-depth examination of literature and ever-increasing written challenges allow students to earn an additional grade point toward their overall GPA. The following list represents the kind of literature that participants are required or encouraged to read as they progress through the Honors curriculum. Every volume referenced on the list is available to check out from the Forest Lake Christian High School library.
