Discipline
A positive approach to discipline has been established with the intent to correct and train the students in Godly attitudes and behavior. Teachers maintain frequent contact with parents regarding student behavior. Students must adhere to an established dress code and lifestyle standards as well as school rules.

Dress Code

One way Christian testimony is evidenced is by our dress in everyday life. We also believe that a student who is neat and properly dressed will be a positive influence in the school and will help create an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. The purpose of our dress code is to encourage students to dress modestly and neatly.

It is our desire that students should dress attractively and appropriately. We caution against extreme fads because they often conflict with our dress standards, and may oppose Christian principles. Also, a student should not dress in such an unusual manner that undue attention is drawn to him or her or that the academic atmosphere is disrupted.

Modesty, neatness, cleanliness, appropriateness, and safety are the basic premises upon which the dress code has been developed. It is not meant to imply that certain clothes are good or bad, but that some styles are appropriate for Forest Lake Christian High School and others are not. When students do not meet our dress standards, they will be counseled and the offense corrected before being allowed to return to class. On the second offense, students will be considered unexcused for the time they are out of class. This may include returning home or leaving campus to correct the offense. Further non-compliance will result in additional action by the administrator. The administration reserves the right to make final decisions in all dress code manners.

On chapel days, girls must wear skirts or dresses; skorts or culottes are not acceptable. Boys must wear a dress shirt with a collar; knit shirts are not acceptable on chapel days. Boys are not allowed to wear jeans of any type on chapel days.

High school students may wear walking shorts that are no shorter than four inches above the bent knee and no longer than the bottom of the knee cap. Shorts must have pockets, a zippered or buttoned fly and belt loops. Exercise shorts, swimming shorts or board shorts are not acceptable substitutes as they are made of nylon or synthetic materials and do not meet the other criteria.

Medications
School personnel will cooperate with parents whenever physicians prescribe medication to be administered during school hours. However, the major responsibility for the student taking medication at school rests entirely with the student and the student's parents. The school nurse or other designated personnel may assist the student in taking medication (including over-the-counter medication) provided the school office has previously received the following:

Long Term Prescription Medication
- Two weeks or longer
The completed medication section on the emergency card, or a written statement from the doctor indicating the medication, date, method, amound, and time(s) which the medicatin is to be taken. ALL MEDICATION MUST BE IN THE ORIGINAL CONTAINER AND LABELED FOR THAT STUDENT ONLY.

Short Term Prescription Medication
- One to fourteen days
The completed medication section on the emergency card, or a written statement from the parent indicating medication, dates, method, amound and time(s) which the medication is to be taken. ALL MEDICATION MUST BE IN THE ORIGINAL CONTAINER AND LABELED FOR THAT STUDENT ONLY.

"Over-the-counter" Medication
- (Excluding school issued Tylenol)
The completed medication section on the emergency card, or a written statement from the parent indicating medication, dates, method, amount and time(s) which the medication is to be taken. ALL MEDICATION MUST BE IN THE ORIGINAL CONTAINER AND LABELED FOR THAT STUDENT ONLY

ALL MEDICATION MUST BE KEPT IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE. STUDENTS WILL BE RELEASED FROM CLASS TO TAKE MEDICATION IN THE OFFICE.

Snow Day Information
Announcement for school closure due to snow will be announced on radio stations KAHI 950AM and KNCO 830AM. Also, check the web site for announcements.

IMPORTANT BUS SAFETY INFORMATION
Only students who attend the Combie Campus may be picked up and dropped off at the campus or ride the bus between campuses. Exceptions are made for siblings or car pool riders of students who attend the Combie Campus or high school students who have a valid Combie Campus parking permit.
