What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is important because it is a stamp of approval that FLCS meets recognized educational and spiritual standards. WASC accreditation allows FLCS graduates to be readily admitted to any secular or Christian university in the country and students are eligible to apply for and receive California state scholarships.

Accreditation is an ongoing process with a six-year cycle of reports and visits from peers representing ACSI and WASC. For each cycle, FLCS writes an extensive report and self-evaluation regarding progress on accreditation recommendations, accomplished areas of growth, and detailed information about the curriculum.

Membership and accreditation

Forest Lake Christian School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). FLCS was one of the first schools in Northern California to pursue dual accreditation through ACSI and WASC. The high school has been accredited since 1985. The kindergarten through eighth grades were included in accreditation beginning in 2017.

FLCS is a charter member of the Association of Christian Schools International. It is the longest continuously operating Christian school in the Northern California area.
